Visit Walt Whitman’s Birthplace! The Walt Whitman Birthplace Historic Site is located just 5 miles from the Farmingdale campus and is open during the conference and on Sunday. The American Airpower Museum is ranked at the top of the list of attractions near the college and is only 1.6 miles away. It is “a unique Museum in that many of the historic Aircraft are operational and fly regularly during the spring and summer months. Old Bethpage Village Restoration is “a living history museum that provides visitors with the unique opportunity to step back in time and experience life as it was on Long Island during the 19th century.
